Based on this year’s community needs assessment, Basic Human Needs, Children and Families, and Healthy Communities are our top three priority areas. The Community Impact Committee reviewed each letter of Intent to choose which programs fell into one of these three categories and who would be invited to complete a full application.
The Community Impact Process is underway with a total of 69 applications to review. We currently have 29 volunteers split into six panels. Our panel members are currently discussing amongst themselves each application that has been assigned to them. Not only do the panel members have the opportunity to ask the agencies questions about their program, they also have a chance to go to each agency for a site visit. Seeing our donor’s dollars at work first hand is a very important step in this process.
Panel members will make their recommendations to the Community Impact Committee by the end of March. The CIC will make their final recommendations to the Board of Directors’ by mid April. Check back in early May to see which agencies have been approved for funding.
